I decided NOT to read book 2 of the 'Shadow of the Avatar' trilogy, and picked this book up...

It's written in1st person--kinda like one of those Cyric books--Crucible?

Anyway, it's a really good read so far. It's a mystery novel, and has some good characters in it so far... worth a read!

More after I finish it!!

I was just thinking of buying this the other day!

If you're recommending it, then I'll buy it.

I just finished it, and it's defiantly a great read! It had funny parts, spooky parts and so much more... I'd like to get the other 2 'Murder' books, but I've never seen them.

Yeah, buy this Mem, it's a great book! Couldn't put it down!!

Yes - not a bad book

Although I'd figured the 'Who Dunnit' before the revelation part (if not exactly the 'Why Dunnit')

Funny - I've had this book (and the Halruaa one) standing on the shelf ever since bying them at a dutch sale for around 0.25$. It wasn't untill I read Z's post I actually considered reading them

I actually have been looking for "Murder in Halruaa". The fellow who runs our thursday night PnP games was a freelance writer for TSR and developed the country of Halruaa and Lurien. If you own or have seen the "Shinning South" supplement for 2nd Edition ADnD then you know his name. Tom won a copy of "Murder in Halruaa" at a Con about a year ago and thought "Cool! someone wrote a novel based in the area I created." Then he read it and told me that they had used the Scintillating Sphere spell I came up with for my 15th level Wizard in the novel. Since then I have been dying to get a copy and read it. Tom loaned his copy to his son and hasn't gotten it back yet. I couldn't find it anywhere, Barnes and Noble told me it was out of print.
Just today I was looking on Amazon and found 1 copy for sale. It will cost me 30 bucks, but if it has something I designed and wrote up in it, I want it.

Tom used a few of our characters and some of the spells and items we created for the "Basement" in his Shinning South supplement. Random the Mad, Scintillating Sphere, Randoms Nerve Dance and the Girdle of Preistly might are all mine.
I am kinda psyched about this.

Ur...um excuse me. I am yammering.
