Hi everyone!
Whats the use of the "Portal" Spell... it creates some portal, but what is it used for? And the "call of home" spell ... each time I cast it it just fizzels ... am I missing something? Actually I'm looking for a spell to set a "beacon" and be able to teleport to this point later on and a spell to teleport to any city. Which are the correct spells? Thanks, Dark Avenger |

Hi Dark!
Welcome to the forum! The create a portal spell and call of home spell only work outside...as does teleport. Call of home...does just that...takes you to the nearest city. Once you create a portal outside, you use call of home to go to a city ... then when outside the city you can use teleport to bring you back to where you created your portal. ![]() Have fun! Nasty |

Ok, thanks, that was fast ...
So these spells work like I thought I just used them in the wrong way ... I don't have the teleport spell, must have missed that one. I assume it's a moon spell. How many portals can you create? One or one per spellcaster? I actually managed to create a portal inside a dungeon ... won't that one work since you said it can only be casted outside? Thanks, Dark avenger. P.S. Any news on Wizardry 8? My W7 savegame has already survived 8 CPU waiting for Wizardry 8. |

1. Create Portal + Teleport work also in dungeons, BUT
a) You cannot be teleported from one map to another, for example, from a dungeon to outside. You can teleport only to a portal at the same map. b) Some areas are failing the teleport spell automatically - usually the "one-way" areas where the exit from the area is somewhere else that the entry to the area. Example: the wizard and the warrior path in the Crypt - you cannot teleport back. Roughly speaking, you can teleport to a location that you can reach by a walk through a known areas. 2. You can have only one portal at each map. If you cast Create Portal again, the old portal is cancelled and a new one is created. 3. The portal is permanent (until you recast Create Portal on the map with a portal, see 2). You can teleport to the portal repeatedly. To which portal you will be teleported is done by the map you are currently on. If there is no portal on your current map, the Teleport will fail. 4. Call of Home can be cast only in the wilderness. It always fails in dungeons. 5. Naturally, the wilderness is also a map, more exactly 3 maps - Valeia, Ishad N'ha and Brimloch Roon. You can set one portal on each of them and use Teleport. |
