Items list

I am looking for a complete list of items for Icewind Dale that shows not only what items can be found, but also where they can be found (randomized in a certain chest, on a certain character, etc.) Anyone know where I can find such a list? Thanks!

I doubt there will ever be such a list, at least not a complete one. Usually item lists and such things are lifted (without attribution) from the hint book for a particular game. The hint book for IWD does have a nice item list, but it rarely says where any specific item can be found, and never where specific random items might be found. It does, of course, show where all the loot is. It just doesn't usually say what items are there. Most likely, details like this were not final when the hint book was written. Balancing issues like this are often done very late in the development process.

If this is good enough for your purposes, I suggest you buy the hint book.

Note that it's quite a lot of work trying to figure out all the different things that might be in even one in a particular spot. I did this for one pile of treasure, where I thought I had picked up certain magic boots once. I tried the pile a couple dozen times. This took a long time even though the pile was near the entrance to the level, and I'm still not sure I saw everything. Never did find the boots I wanted. Anyway, no one is going to do this for every pile of loot in the game.
