I'm not sure you can transfer the golden pantaloons from BGI to BGII without cheating in some way, since all your items from BGI are lost at the beginning of BGII? You could start BGII in multiplayer, then substitute in your main character with all items after the game starts, but that is a kind of cheat. I wonder if the TOB patch will allow golden pantaloons to be found if they were in the imported character's inventory? Has anyone tried starting a BGII SOA game with an imported BGI character with the golden pantaloons in their inventory to see what would happen?

Assuming you imported your BG1 character into BG2, the Golden Pantaloon is found in the trapped, locked safe behind the painting in the room where the golem is in Jon Irenicus' dungeon.

When you import your character into BG II for the first time, and you get to the part where you groan right at the beginning in Irenicus' Dungeon, make sure you pause it just before you groan. Then go to your inventory, and drop all your items (and the pants) on the floor. Then you can pick them up later

Dundee is correct. It's been that way since BG2 was released incidentally, you just couldn't do anything with them until now.
