I have a couple questions that are sort of random:

1) what are your best stat rolls without cheating? I've rolled for hours and hours and the best score I ever got was 92. The reason I ask this is that I've seen some people in a different message board claim to get scores in the 100s with not that many rolls.

2) do most people have the autopause options on for battle, or do they play in 'real time?'
I have autopause on for conditions:
-Enemy spotted
-round over
-weapon unusable
-character death

3) shoe size?
Mine's 8

4) Favourite NPC?
Mine is Xzar

5) Most annoying NPC?
Minsc for sure. Good grief, his lines are just awful.

1) I once rolled up something in the mid 90's for an elven ranger, forget the exact score.

2) Nope, never use autopause, nor scripts. I pause constantly in battle and micromanage every character's actions. Of course when I played MP games with other players all the time we never paused at all(which is fine because you only have to control for your own character). I prefer that no-pause style of play actually, but I kind of burnt out on MPing. The vast majority of my experience playing this game is in MP games, btw. I did a lot of it. Only just recently got back into SP games.

3) 11 EEE. My wife says I have flippers instead of feet.

4) Favorite NPC... this for me boils down to the best overall combination of personality, preferred class, and ability... hard call to make... Coran, but only after I realized I could change that goofy-ass portrait they gave him. Once you change his portrait and colors he's fine.

5) Least favorite NPC.. haven't used all the NPCs yet, mind you... Can't say that there are any I truly hate. Haven't used him yet, but I see that Tiax's stats appear to be poor, and I've consistently heard that he is pretty annoying to boot.

I'm mostly in agreement with Lemernis here....

1) I've got 2 sets of rolls that I'd consider the luckiest: A Paladin who got stats of 1

78)/18/18/10/16/17 on her 4th Reroll, and a Half-elf Cleric/Mage who started BG1 with stats of 6/18/15/18/18/18, and finished BG1 with stats of 1

00)/18/16/19/21/20. Yikes!

2) I'm Pausing all the time. If I could play the game using a scalpel, I would.

3) 9 1/2

4) Gotta be Coran. I was SO happy when I accidentally found out how to change his picture! (Personally, I think he was meant to get the picture that was meant to go on Kivan. Look at their stats: Coran has 16 CHA, Kivan has 8. Which of them deserves the cool pic?) Coran is so cool, I'd use him even if he was Chaotic Evil.

5) Actually, there's quite a lot of folks I've never used: Garrick, Safana, Quayle, Tiax, Eldoth, Skie, Faldorn, Yeslick, Alora, Edwin, all the Candlekeep NPCs except Canderous, and I haven't used Khalid & Jaheira for so long they might as well go here too. Biggest loser, though, is Tiax. He's a Cleric who's too weak to wear Plate, has only 13 Wisdom, and is Chaotic Evil to boot. He can Summon Ghasts....whoop de doo.

Nice questions Katherine - you must do this more often

4) Favourite NPC? Eldroth - me and him are kindred spirits, and very alike in our mannerisms

5) Most annoying NPC? I hate Jaheira. She always takes the piss and just gets on my nerves because she's never happy. If you're too good, she complains, and if you're too evil she complains. I get sick of her.

ummm...

3) i'm an 11 not too big, none too small

4)My fav NPC is probably Coran or (don't laugh) Adjantis that protection from adn detect evil has helped me out alot.

Least.... has to be jaheria she gets old real quick, what also sucks is Khalid... his reaction adjustments suck "better part of Valor"???

2) Autopause on enemy spotted (otherwise I don't even notice someone's attacking me [img]tongue.gif[/img] ), and weapon unusable.

4) Minsc.

5) Jaheira annoys me. I think it's her voice I don't like...

1)I got a 95 rolling for a paladin - automatically gets 17 or 18 for charisma so it's not that hard, took me approx 1/2 an hour

2)I have auto pause for enemy spotted but other than that I use real time

3)size 10 and a 1/2

4)favorite - yeslick is quite good but you don't get him till later in the game (cloakwood mines) otherwise Imoens good with a bow

5)most annoying - Xan is the most sorry for himself, unpleasant, miserable loser on the entire sword coast [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yes, that was me. thanks. I thought it was a fun competition until they decided that you didn't have to worry about roleplaying or acting in character with your alignment. I don't really see the point of playing BG if you're not going to roleplay. You might as well play some run-jump-shoot game instead, you know? Still, I will probably still finish (at least the game I am on). I did find it to be quite entertaining to play that way- with no reloads. I got way too complacent with reloads, doing so any time a fight or transaction didn't turn out the way I wanted it too. Also, some of the journals people wrote were very fun to read.
Are you on the board there?

And, you guys all have some pretty big feet.

well, I totally agree with you on the fact that games like BG1 should be played with a lot of your own roleplaying fantasies. That's just what the genre makes fun and you can't really do it with other types of games. Besides that I am one person that lives his life for let's say 50% out of reality. I am almost always fantasizing about being an inhabitant of a world like the "Forgotten Realms" I mean: my only hobbies are music, fantasy Books and RPG-games, all of those are very fitting for role-playing so that figures. I'm not mad though I'm just crazy.

About the Speed Competition; well I'm not on that board but I do like the idea very much and I will probably try it out soon. I am just not that good at writing interesting/funny stories like those on that board. (I tried a little though > see the "State your Character" thread on the BGII board)
