Erm..... The only cards I've seen in my area cost $30, same as the game, and that's for two month's worth.

So I have no clue what you're on about.
I'm in asia. Our game card price is not the same as yours.

I thought people would have known that I'm from asia already after all these while

Yeah, when I played Baldur's Gate I didn't get any of the lewt in BG1 because I knew it would be worthless and ridiculous after I got BG2. Listen to what you're saying? LoL.

Grinding is having to kill the same thing or do the same thing over and over and over to get levels.

Raiding is getting 40 of your mates together to enter a massive dungeon to get good gear and kill tough monsters. Not all raids involve 40 people though

Try the 15 day free trial of WoW on their website, or pick up a copy and try the free month. Then decide for yourself if you like the game. But do it fast before people start knocking on Luvian's door chanting "Burn the witch!"

Here's the the description coming straight from the wow website:

Quote:
Grinding - Staying in the same area fighting the same types of monsters for a very long time.

Raid - A raid is a large-scale attack on an area by a group of players.
To be precise, in WOW a raid is any group between 6 and 40 person. Raids are multiple regular groups merged into one big group called a raid. You can't enter regular dungeons, only massive dungeons balanced for raids.

Some raids are pretty much one big monster, like Onyxia. Others are a series of bosses with a handfull of filler mobs in between, like Molten Core. Others are more balanced boss/monster wise, like Zul'Gurub. Some raid bosses are actually outside in the overworld, but require a raid to take down, mainly Dragons.

Farming isn't in their lexicon. It's like grinding, but with the purpose of getting something "physical". You farm gold, loot. You grind xp. It can be interchangable.

This is what I'm worried about though. Let's say I'm in a guild where I can only play for 3hrs a week, while others in my guild play 50hrs a week. How will I not be stunted and fall behind in terms of XP, loot, etc? Or will I be paired with others at my own level?

Well see this is what I love about WoW. Since it tries to help the casual gamer they have a resting system. The longer you have that character loged out in a city or in an inn the more you alott yourself 'rest'. What rest does is doubles the xp you gain when you finally start gaining again. So, if you log a character out for like a week you will have close to a level of rested (double) xp. So if you play with someone who hasn't had a break you gain more xp than them when you kill a mob. If they get 80 you get 160. Some people I know just 'rest' chars and then move on to different ones, alternating them so they can get xp faster on each. Blizzard have said that they realize people have other thins to do in their life than play their games, and so created a means for you to catch up to your friends with relative ease.

As for a guild outlvling each other well that will always happen. There are few guilds that have everyone the same level unless they are endgame guilds. That's half the fun of it, you look in your guild for people your level and ask them to join you. This is how you get to know everyone. Guilds will have groups of people at different levels doing different things. Don't worry
