Calaethis clasped Aeris's forearm, warrior style, and replied simply, "Thank you, my friend." Sylquis waved happily back, still paying attention to Verloren. "I have not... been acting as an elf should - I hope you have not thought too badly of me.." he grinned suddenly, "As soon as the ladies have finished talking" he said in a voice loud enough for them both to hear, "How about we all get something to eat?" it was obvious he was trying his best to be cheerful, and shrugging off any dispair - even though it wasn't forced, they could tell that he was still troubled.

Aeris smiled. I'd love to Calaethis. It is great to do something with you again. He smiled again and winked at Verloren indicating he would test her food for her when they ate. (OOC: Duh [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

Verloren smiled and took the elf child's hand,
"Of course I will teach you, little one. How about after we eat?" she returned Aeris's wink and made a motion to follow as she moved towards the stairway, "Come, we can eat in the grand hall together,"
As they entered the great room, the Captain was just finishing his light lunch. He bowed to Verloren as she drew near.
""Good afternoon, Captain. I wonder, would you find my sister for me, and bring her here? And the young Skye as well,"
Elon grinned down at her, "Certainly, your Majesty, I believe I saw them both discussing something at the edge of your walls," he half-bowed again and made his way out, making greetings to Calaethis, Aeris, and Slyquis, golden cloak fluttering ponderously behind him.

Sylquis smiled and replied "Thank you Mistress Verloren!" and continued to hold her hand, skipping happily at her side. Calaethis smiled and shook his head. His eyes darkened at the mention of Alliene, and he stepped next to Verloren and whispered, "Don't let her touch me, please?" Taking a step back, he fell in line with Aeris, behind Verloren. He shot a worried look towards the drow, but said nothing.

Elon returned not long after as the party's lunch was just being laid out. Alliene entered behind him, one hand on Isak to keep the scabbard out of the way of her stride, and Skye behind her. Alliene pointedly ignored Calaethis and took a seat beside her sister,
"Skye was telling me of a safe sanctuary for us to travel to," the sea-drow said as she dug a fork into a fresh salad.
"Verily?" Verloren turned soft brown eyes to Skye, "Where is this place?"

Sylquis sat down next to Verloren, and Calaethis took a seat three away from Alliene, but not opposite her, so she couldn't kick him...

Skye pulled on her left eartip nervously, as both Verloren and Alliene directed their gazes at her. "I am not positive, but I am almost certain I know a place of safety. If the two of you would be so kind as to accompany me outside, I will see if it is possible."

A short time later found the three of them on the edge of Verloren's estate, near the edge of Avalon's domain. Skye had closed her eyes, her eyebrows drawn together in concentration, small frown lines creasing her forehead and around her mouth. After a few moments a figure materialized from seemingly nowhere out of the wood. "You called?" the mild, bemused voice asked. Skye looked up with a relieved look.
"I hadn't tried using mental telapathy since Ly, er, Lord Lyulfe was parted from me, so I wasn't sure it would work. Oh, this is A- Matron Mother Alliene, and Lady Verloren." The sage placed his hands together and bowed politely. Skye continued "I was wondering if it would be possible for you to ask Lord Lyulfe to provide safe haven for my friends and I for awhile. I am unsure how long, but any time at all would be a blessing."

The ageless one listened to the half-elf intently, and considered her words. "Well, I do not see why not," he finally said. "I can tell from your thoughts that it is an important reason for you to impose upon him so suddenly like this. I will not ask what the reason is, you may tell him personally." He clapped his hands together, decided. "I will go tell him. Once he's decided, I shall bring people to assist with travel, so it will not take long. Expect my reply in three days." With that, he bowed politely to the three women and disapeared as swiftly as he had come.

Skye turned around and gave the two a bewildered smile. "Erm, well, I guess we'll see in three days, now won't we?"

Verloren and Alliene traded twin glances, then both spoke at the same time,
"That sounds good. Who is this Lyulfe?"

Skye cleared her throat and scratched her cheek thoughtfully. "Well, he's a friend of sorts, to make a long story short. He's older than me, and we go back a long ways. When I bumped into you all, we had been apart for about.." she counted on her fingers. "About 11 human years, I guess. Don't worry, you'll like him," she reassured them with a broad smile. Skye didn't answer the question entirely, but enough to put Verloren and Alliene's minds at ease.
