No they are not unique. Other religions have influenced laws in similar ways in other parts of the world. I'm sure they don't give a dang about the ten commandments in the Middle East whereas their own teachings are still very important in their legal system. So no christianity is in no way unique in this matter.

On topic then. It all sounds very silly to me. I mean statues from Greek mytholgy are considered art.

Just being included in the bible doesn't make it religious. If you think so, please explain to me exactly what the book of "numbers" has to do with religion?
The 10 commandments, or what is commonly refered to as the "10 Commandments" is part of the Law of Moses, given by God to the children of Israel. In other words the 10 commandments is Jewish, not Christian. In fact there are whole chapters in the New testement to the Christians from differant Aposles that are about how Christains are no longer under the Law (of Moses).

WillowIX, Skywalker,
You have stumbled onto the ENTIRE crux of the matter! To one of you it is art, to another it is not of much significant religous value, which is ok. BUT to another it may not be art, and of great significant religous value, which is also ok. Now because it might offend even one individual in this nation we must remove all stautes from every government building, court yard, plaza, parking lot, park, National forest, you name it. Fairness demands that it be done. Why does fairness demand such a thing? I'm glad you asked. If the 10 commandments offends somebody because they proceive it to be mixxing of religion and state. Then ANYTHING that can be proceived as mixxing of religion and state must also fall under the same rules, and be subject to the same removal. That is if we truely want to be fair. Now the real question to everybody just how "fair" do you want to be? In the name of fairness are you willing to have your ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc be subjected to wiether or not it offends somebody, or violates what they proceive to be a violation of Church and State? Anything less then such action is Hypocrisy, which is where the problem lies. people will want what they want in the name of freedom, yet scream and yell at others when they want what they want in the name of SAME freedom.

Personnaly I don't give a rat's rear end if the 10 commandments is up or not. I voted for Judge Moore because I believed the man possesed the testostorone producing glands in sufficant quanity with mammilian external insulation on them, to do what he said he was going to do. And I wanted to see if I was right.
