Oh, and also, Azred, Aerie is NOT attracted to Imoen or the PC. This is part of the script goes: "Aerie: Imoen, I see you are still sleeping in the same bedroll as (character). Are you still having nighmares? I know that I still dream about having my wings amputated, so I know how you feel. Imoen: Gosh, thanks Aerie. I didn't think that anyone would understand, but maybe you do. I'm just glad that (character) is indulging me. I do feel so much safer next to her." I should note that at this point, the situation has not gotten sexual.
Adding another aspect, I just got a e-mail from another female player who thinks that, absent another romance, a female player really has been romancing Imoen all along. It is the males who find her whiny. Women feel that she is just confiding in them, as we do. I think that this is extreme, as I know my husband and stepson adore Imoen.

Well, I am no fan of the Nalia romance, because I will have to uninstall the game, clean out my override folder completely, and then reinstall--I can't load my saved games for item/spell experimentation for my new creations. Oh, well....

Those were just some random thoughts about Aerie. I've always thought that Aerie and Imoen would become great friends, having some similarities in their histories, etc.

Imoen? Whiny? [img]graemlins/1ponder.gif[/img] I've never thought so. Of course, I've never thought that Aerie was whiny, either, even though many others do.

Getting back onto the topic now, keep us all updated on the progress of the romance, if you would, please. If either you or Columbus think I could be of any possible help, then do not hesitate to let me know.

Azred, I know that Columbus' original script had the Anomen romance going, and when he made some Lovetalk to the PC, Immie buts in and says, "What do you mean sleep next to you? She's MY sister, and we've slept together since we were girls in Candlekeep." and it goes on from there. Anomen calls her a brat and tells her to grow up.

I am reworking this, since the scene he apparantly was thinking of occurs quite early, and the other lovetalks don't really go with this. But I do like it that Anomen calls Immie a brat, so I'm keeping that part.

Um... the novel bears little similarity to the game, basically. if you take away the names and settings, the written story is somewhat divergent from the original. Less of a point, more of a quip.

Galadria, after being away from the forums for quite a while, I come back to find you working on something I've wanted in the game since BG I! Fantastic!
For my part, I fiddled with the romance variables to get my lead character, a half-elf female ranger, hooked up with Jaheira. It worked tolerably well so far ( I haven't finished the game yet) but there were numerous annoying little inconsistencies. It sounds like the expansion you're working on will really give this game the depth of interpersonal intensity I was hoping for.
It is sad, yet understandable, that some things were probably unapproachable for the dev team due to marketing concerns. I'm very happy that you're pursuing this, and I hope it all goes well.
For what it's worth, although Anomen's character is necessary as a foil, he irritates the hell out of me. Modelled on far too many men that I have met.

I know this is touched on already and people have desired that everyone has there own ideals but I like to ask how exactly raping Imoen fitted in Jon plans?
He did not desire to break here sprite because it would not of severed his cause, a broken child of Bhaal will not feel the blood lust needed to start the powers. As for the knives and such that, even thought it was, in his mind torture as he did it to both Jheria and Minsc, probably Khild and Daynia as well. It was a test to see if the person was a Bhaal child. After like in the Khild experiment he tried to bring her to be fascinated with death.
And in the speech of the Dryads they said they WERE his concubines and imply he had stopped using them.
And on Spell hold he just ripped her soul from her body by magic, the test on the inmates were probably to see if the instability was due to a Bhall essence.
As for the whole incest bit the Parent was a god and half the time their not even the same speices.

Alright peeps, new kid in this forum just discovered the site. Im intrigued by this Imoen romance thing, but after reading through the post im not sure what ur all on about and how to get it to work. Forgive me if im soundin stupid but cud someone explain to me the basics of how this works.
