New Portraits/Small Pics!

The pictures are to scale with themselves only. Otherwise, the illithid would have been taller and the dwarf shorter.

By the way, the dwarf is the same model as my 'superhero' dwarf, which is the same as the clown in my avatar (in the other forum).

These were kind of test renders, in that I have plans for backgrounds and other objects in the pictures. In future illithid pictures, there will most likely be other creatures for scale (can you say "drow").

I guess what I meant to say for the mind flayers is that maybe I thought they were skinnier But these mind flayers look quite good, too, nevertheless (just more bulky).

These mind flayers are a bit on the buff side. Part of it is the big, thick cassocks they are wearing, and part of it is that they're shoulders are so broad.

I will definitely keep these things in mind for the next batch of illithid renders. Though, some are going to be buff, and some are going to be a different color, and I'm thinking that some may even be tattooed.

The dwarf king's beard seems a bit short (for a king) in light of recent discussions here, but the perspective on his hammer makes it appear unnaturally large, which might balance things nicely.

How does one show a picture of a psychic tattoo? I have been toying with a way to dramatize pisonics in action...but still have no idea how to implement them in the game (though I just need to give them to illithids so they can be special abilities I suppose).

Longer beard, heh? Would you buy that her beard is long enough to be Queen of the Dwarves? For the next version I will see if he can get some beard extensions.

Okay here are a couple of potential beard lengths...
I can do anything from shorter than the original up to the longest here. Give me some feedback please.

Hmm - in this case, I think the first of your new pictures has the best beard length myself

The second one perhaps obscures too much of his nice clothing (and it kind of looks like he used a curling iron on the bottom part last night )

That's one vote for the middle length (which I like better than the long in some respects, most notably the lack of "curling iron" look, but long is nice too).

The king is fairly strict in what he'll allow me to do to his beard, but I think some of the other dwarves might let me try some stuff.

I prefer the first. While the second is impressive, it's long enough to be in danger of urine stains, which simply wouldn't do for a king.
