Never used kelsey personally, but i dont use sorcerers too often either. I hate using them because they are so powerful, i usually just clear the area with just the sorcerer.

My favorite character is mage, dualled to fighter once he can cast level 6 spells (i think its lvl 13) that way he can cast most of the good defensive spells and still fight very well. PfMW and stoneskin will make most melee battles a piece of cake, and he can also cast breach to get through mages defences

If sorc is overpowered then so is mage. It's just less resting with a sorc and less spells. If in trouble, sorc is more reliable, not extremely overpowered IMO.

The reloading option is overpowered.

Here is what I just did:

Feebleminded Renald Bloodscalp, everyone invisible. Yoshimo killed him, noone cared. He picked up all the goodies, hid in shadows, and we all left with the goodies. No Arcanis Gath. Worked.

You don't need advanced cheese to get Renal's boots, all you need is the patch and BaldurDash, to make sure that Arkanis Gath doesn't show up when he's not supposed to. The only times he should appear are when you attack (or otherwise turn Hostile) Shadow Thieves that you are currently working for. He will therefore appear:
1) If you anger any member of Mae'Var's Guild before Renal specifically orders you to kill Mae'Var
2) If you anger any member of Renal's or Aran's Guilds after siding with the Shadow Thieves during all of Chapter 3

There are therefore 2 times during which Renal can be killed quite easily:
1) In Chapter 2, or in Chapter 3 after siding with Bodhi but before doing her quest to assault Renal's Guildhall
2) All of Chapter 6, if you sided with the Shadow Thieves

Baldurash fixes. I didn't install it because I already installed ToB. I found a bug again. Lavok was gone. I had to CLUAConsole him after doing everything in planar sphere. Must've been the poison from assassin.

I just killed Kangaxx and that Shadow dragon. Cleric/illusionist was level 10/11 I think. I let Yoshimo go after the liches were dead. Things might not go as smooth from now on; I have no traps. The kensai and the barbarian are level 13. Kelsey just joined and we took the boat. I almost completed every quest on the main land. I didn't do the eye cult quest, the staff of magi quest, or the Celestial fury quest or the paladin quest or the graveyard quests (with Edwin and Korgan). I don't know...I got greedy for items and experience I guess. So now I'll be facing tougher monsters. No deaths so far. Well...I don't count one time I reloaded because I forgot to turn of the auto-script and noone obeyed my orders.

I recall seeing a file I could download so that I would not have to see that globe around my character when they are wearing cloak of mirroring, but now I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where I can get it?

Btw, I just got cloak of mirroring, and now I am in underdark. Jaheira died, and I ran out of resurrection charges. I tried the tactic of bladebarrier then invisibility on my cleric/illusionist when I was facing a few drows, but they one of them cast true sight, ruining the attack. Óne cone of cold was enough for Jaheira to get killed.

Which is why i dual FROM mage TO fighter as soon as i can cast level 6 spells, so i end up with a level 12 or 13 mage, with level 20+ fighter. I still get to cast spells, but i mostly use defensive buffs and summons. This character is alot of fun, and i do occasionally loose a fight!! (shock horror)

Having played the mage/sorcerer classes almost to death, there will be almost no chance of losing a fight, except to an instant death spell. As soon as stoneskin goes down, another one is cast, same with mirror image ect. takes all the fun out of playing.

MAGES ARE JUST TOO OVER POWERED FOR THIS GAME!

First goal completed.

My main character survived throughout SoA, and noone got splattered when they died. Took alot of patience and preparations. Sometimes, I was surprised how quickly I could kill the monsters. For example in underdark when I was facing undead knights. They died in 2 rounds, and I remember I used to have problems with these. Twisted runes was also pretty easy. The mage took a while to kill though. Toughest fight in the game must have been the dragon in Suldanesselar. I think three died in that fight. My cleric/illusionist kept safe distance. In the end, magic missiles killed the dragon (as usual when I fight dragons). Otherwise, I had some tough fights in the beginning when I was collecting items. Come to think of it, the fight for Kelsey was very tough. Noone died, but it was close. Totally invaded by monsters, and then the Githyankis joined. Had to flee, summoned a few monsters to prevent everyone from following.

It is pretty nice to have a few characters with 100+ fire resistance tanking and then throwing fireballs or sunrays on them. In ToB, Kelsey can cast project image and firebreath and timestop. A little cheesy, but obviously the makers of the game wanted it this way.

I have to watch out for my Kensai(lvl 17)/Thief(lvl 14) now. Very weak character, but I knew she would be. Soon it will all end. My assassin(lvl 21)/Fighter(lvl 11) is also pretty weak, because she only has 75 hit points. No good tanking, so I put 2 proficiency points in shortbow, 5 in katanas, so she will at least be decent with bow. The Barbarian is the best tank I've ever had. Of course, I use Jaheira mostly for distraction (with ironskin), but sometimes she must flee, and barb can handle himself pretty good.

By the way, I was wondering. Why is my cleric/illusionist neutral evil all of a sudden (from neutral good)? I didn't kill anyone innocent. In hell, I did let one of my companion die and I did fight for the blackrazor. ?

No objection. Some spells just invite for cheesy combos. It's not hard figuring them out either.

It's because of those two specific choices you made in hell. Your lead character acted evilly so he is considered evil now.
