The best couple of hours come when a solo Mage is level 15-17. This is when the game really shines because each fight keeps getting harder and harder, but if you don't have ToB installed your mage stops getting better and you can't use gay Time Stops and Improved Alacrity.

If you want to have some laughs, import your level 17+ mage(with full spellbook) back into a new game. If you do only the essential stuff you can get back to Spellhold in about two hours, and if you have other characters in your party they all seem so weak for some reason. Hehe.

I think that the game has excellent quests and sub-quests as well as a great storyline but it could use some more random encounters!

it has plenty of those "YES!!! I did it!!" moements where after many frustrating attempts at solving a puzzle or taking a down a tough monster, you umpteenth strategy you cam eup with finally worke, and you see the bad guy going down...

I was stuck in the Mind Falyer city trying to get past a group of 2 umber hulks and 4 ultharids. After many attempts, I finally suceeded in killing 'em all. That wa a Gratifying Moment In Gaming (GMIG(tm))

lol, Megabot, I might have to harm you with my trusty whip for suggesting such things....
This is getting dangerously close to kronastia's thread where he refused to listen to anything that was said about BG and changed the topic to FF when he could. I like Bg2 'cos it's got gameplay, depth, it can be hard or easy, it has re-play value due to the MANY mods out there, and it whups butt! (Sorry, can't help but add this one...It has cows... )
By the time i had reached ToB I found myself very attached to my NPCs and unable to dump any of them and say nasty things in a banter or such-like
