Supercharger tax?

Glad we don't have a turbo-charger tax in the UK. Our tax is based on emissions....luckily for me, my car is in a loophole that means that this doesnt apply me to me. So my car gets to use the old taxing system, still in the highest bracket on that though.

I have two cars. 1985 Pontiac Parisienne and 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis. I have been offered twice as much for the Pontiac as I paid for it. People just see me in the street and want to buy it! (all four offers have come from black men).

I meant that figuratively, but it's no less $$ out of my pocket. Example: I needed to replace some gaskets last year, which was going to be $169 or something for a 'normal' engine. Because it's supercharged, apparently this process is more difficult and time consuming. I got charged a little over $300.

Ah, i thought so. Supercharged cars require many heavier/stronger components due to increased compression ratios. There's no good reason for any government body to lob a tax on top of that. Just had me wondering is all.

The reason is twofold: (1) it'd be hawt to put hydraulics on, and (2) there's this saying about Pontiacs.... nuff said.

BTW, those MR2 pics are hawt. Nice little racer. Having owned an MX6 and having a sis who owns a Miata, I gotta say though that my little German made trinket is solid as a rock and made of heavy metal compared to the Japanese cars.
