Jeez, I wish I could go back to college. I'd take Art History, Figure Drawing, Russian Literature and Medieval History.

It would be law and history for me, although philosophy etc appeal too.

although you dont see many job ads for philosophers...

ahh. Monday. Mondays suck. I had to give a practice presentation to two of the partners here this morning. totally forgot about it until i arrived, then had an hour to prepare. I can honestly say it was the worst presentation i have ever given (normally i am quite good).

Luckily it was a pracitce, and they gave me some good feedback. But still i feel a little bummed.

I am also supposed to recieve a big bundle of stuff to study for my first professional exam (accounting). so that means the next month will blow.

I dont get paid enough for this crap.

Good luck on the exam, Captain O!

I'm a little subdued here tonight.. a friend from work (known her over 20 yrs) is in the hospital, in a coma. She had a stroke earlier in the week and no prognosis for future yet... we're hoping for the best, but not sure if it's likely.

Sorry to hear that cloudy, that really sucks. It is quite frightening to be reminded of our own mortality.

I sincerely hope things work out for her.

I'll echo the sympathies, Cloudy. May it work out for the best.

*slides over the endless M&M jar*

Here. These are the no-fat, no-calorie, no-guilt pure enjoyment M&Ms.

Hey, in a place that has an endless M&M jar, you've got to be able to get magical M&Ms too, don't you?

Thanks Captain O, that's pretty close to the way I feel right now.. that and she was one of those work friends who you both keep saying 'lets do lunch' and never get around to it.... so I have a few regrets there, too.

Bungleau, many thanks! Guilt-free chocolate is a definite necessity some days. Rough week at the office and rougher still for the news about Kay (my friend). Weekend is coming and I'm thinking how nice it'll be to crash for a day or two.

You have a friend who is legally blind and sees very little, mainly shadows. You take her to the mall. You get out and lock (electronically) your car. You've left your cellphone on the front seat. You come back and it's gone... seems the window on the passenger side was down.

You

A) Blame the blind friend for not telling you the window was down when you locked the car.

B) Assume you were at fault for not checking the windows before you locked your car and left it, with the expensive bit of easily grabbed equipment in plain sight.

If you chose A- Hello, you are in complete agreement with my co-worker from the black lagoon!

*shakes head* Fine example of the "not my fault" philosophy, Cloudy. Hopefully it was your cow-worker who lost her cell phone... how much longer until she retires?

I roll the windows up every time I leave the car... it's just part of my exit check. And I carry my cell phone with me... but perhaps that's a guy geek thing

For guys, cellphone live in pockets, along with wallets, keys and well, thats about it really.

I hope the blind friend slapped her upside the head and said "just be thankful your car sucks and they didnt steal that too!"

When is she leaving Cloudy? you really must come up with a whole list of EVIL things to do in her last week.

We will all help with ideas.

I'm thinking: Monday morning cover her chair in honey or something - superglue is also good, but a little cliched.
