I agree with you, Beau. 15+ should be optional is what I put down. I mean, when in my life will I ever have to find how long it will take for 2 cars to meet, or, like you already said, trigonometry.

alot of people have little or no idea what they are going to do throughout high school. I dropped math my final year because i had come to realization that what i was planning to do had nothing to do with math and i don't like it so i don't try. but i'm glad i took it till then, even though i'll proably forget most of it

I'd like to make a point that no one else here has. You need math (and that includes Algebra) to be able to figure out your taxes. You'll also need it if you ever want to save money for retirement. You'll need those skills to understand the stocks and figure out what you need to save to retire comfortably. Sure you can hire an accountant and a financial planner, but if you rely totally on them and don't do some research on your own, you're likely to find yourself in the poor house.

Music: I Have 1 Lesson A Week[/QUOTE]There is so much math in music that it?s not even funny. If you ever seriously study how classical music was created you'll find out that there was a lot of math involved in figuring out the harmonies and such. If you plan on going to college for Music, I think you'll find that theres more math involved then you expect. |
