I agree with your sentiments, but not necessarily your presentation. You came on awful strong in a thread that had been relatively "light-hearted" up to that point. It's good to see a fellow Christian that will act on his/her convictions rather than compromise them. Maybe just try a somewhat softer approach next time.

Yeah...I have actually been told not to take part in discussions like this! LOL! Sorry. I saw an opening and jumped on it. I forgot that this is why I do not come here to this forum. I am a very strong speaker when I find something to talk about. You said what I was thinking better than I did.
Thanks for reinerating the true point of the discussion, and avoiding the tangents and diverse paths that was trying to be created.

Sure, these protests arn't going to make a lick of difference. But for alot of those taking part it probably wasn't even about preventing the war. It would seem that for some it was more a matter of breaking out of the confines of their day-to-day lives and doing something fun and rebellious. I sure as hell know I'd rather be dead than stuck in a house all day, doing whatever my spouse thinks is 'socially appropriate'. It's pretty much common sense that you can't stop a war if it has high financial or strategic profitability, these ladies were just having a little fun. And to hell with over-constrictive husbands that preach shame for the organic form.

And as an aside, if it wern't for the fact that I'd get arrested and thrown in a prison cell I'd be walking around naked every hot summer day. Of course these ladies were doing it in the middle of winter, which demonstrates a copious amount of hard-core on their part! Kudos to naked ladies!

Cerek I did not suggest the women's bodies were beautiful or ugly. I was resonding to a comment of Larry's that was a general comment. That's all.

Larry, I did not force your comments about hookers, democrats as being a bunch of perverted wierdos, and that being nude in public as evil.

Sorry, but nudity in public is not evil...Adam and Eve were nude. It is only illegal because the current laws say so.

Indecent to some , yes.
Illegal to all , definately.

Everybody lives by some type of code of behavior. Some are spelled out in religion and some are spelled out for themselves. If their code of conduct in relation to their fellow man allows for this behavior, then they still broke the law in public.

Nudist colonies exist to allow those who want to open themselves up to this freedom to do so without breaking the law. Designated areas to do so are okay by me. That is why they are designated for them. That is what they wish to do.
To break the law in Central Park was wrong, and if any of those women go to church (Christian, Jew, Muslim) the next day thinking they have done no wrong...then they are lying to themselves, and have broken thier code of conduct.

By the way, I still feel that skywalker is joking with all this. He is having fun at my expense, just like he does with MagiK and Yorick. He loves to play these word games, and I am a fool to continue feeding him...and now you, with material that you are trying to use against me so that you can brag to everyone on those other websites that you think we know nothing about, and say that you bested me. Well, have your fun...but now you can do so at another person's expense. ANd Cerek, you're absolutely right. It was wrong, rash and inconsiderate of me to say that. I thought the exact same thoughts as you after sitting back and reading what I had actually posted and was going to edit it out. However, considering it has now been quoted from I might as well leave it there.

And for the record, this is no game, I'm not trying to offend anyone (I can't speak for skywalker, though he probably isn't either). And I certainly havn't 'bested' anyone. Looks like this all just got out of hand...

Heirophant - I sincerely appreciate your comments and I admire anyone who is big enough to say they were wrong. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] Heaven knows I've had to "eat my own words" many, many times.

For the record, I don't disagree with the nude protest as strongly as Larry does....but I did understand the reasons behind his objections.

So, if these women decide to hold another such protest - I will simply have to do what ANY good Southern Baptist would do --- I'll go in person to explain my objections to them "face to face".
