They don't. [img]smile.gif[/img] They exist in TOB as a high level ability for the mage/sorceror class. If you can't seem to figure out how to summon one of these, and you don't have TOB installed - that's why.

Why do folks always want to use a gimmick to kill these suckers? These are some of the most fun battles in the game! You can easily beat them at level 10 with a little careful strategy. "Preparation" is the key word. Red dragons spit fire, duh! Get a little fire resistance going on! Protect yourself from fear, domination, confusion, etc. Fight smarter, not harder. Don't bunch up, spread out. Mages and archers to the back corners. Tanks on flanks. Don't stand still, duck and move. Have someone come at him from the back while he's chasing the ducker. The ducker should be using healing potions on the run. In other words, use a strategy and your pause key to direct your battle. Make sure you have counter-spells. Counter its defensive spells in a timely manner so your melee attacks aren't wasted effort. I mean, put a little effort into it people! Jeez!

Haha! I do use the pause key! I love fighting the dragons now instead of using cloudkill. I only use it in one instance, when I want Aerie in my Theif Romance to kill the Red Dragon alone. I like the information part of the game that tells what the highest monster any character has killed is.
