I read a blog recently that contended that the card games were the only thing that non-computer role playing games from disappearing back into the ranks of eccentric hobbyists...they thought we all would have moved on to computer RPGs. (Which in a way, we kind of have...)

Yeah, but the thing about it is that you really can't have someone elses game after you've played the PnP DnD game. Commercial RPGs tend to be built on someone elses idea of what you should or should not do (or worse, cannot do).
