And, lol, Kaltia, same here.
Is it just a matter of how it's applied? Or do you just generally find blokes in makeup distasteful? I mean, a thick coat of warpaint looks bad on anybody, but something so subtle that you can't tell it's makeup can be very nice. For that matter, most people look better without it, especially young ladies like Kaltia and yourself - there's no real need to gild the lily. But it can be a part of the whole dressing-up-to-go-out thing.

Although I do not utilise make-up myself, I can see the parallel between make-up and kilts. The added problem with make-up, however, is that there is none designed specifically for men, at least not as far as I know (granted, that's not far at all). Therefore men using make-up are seen as men using and displaying the use of products specifically designed for women.
Now, there are roughly two reasons for wearing make-up, much like there are two reasons for a man to wear a skirt. One is because you find that there is too small an offer of 'male' products so you have to make do with those designed for the opposite gender, the other is to appear more feminine.
In the first case trouser (or make-up) tyranny kicks in and society laughs at you even though it should grant you the freedom to wear what you like. In the second case society laughs at you as well, and although it may not be right in doing so, you have crossed the dividing line between male and female which most societies insist on using. Such a shame, really.
Tell you what, if all masculine make-up users say No to the Trouser Tyranny, and we are succesful in banishing it, I shall personally stand with you and offer my aid in fighting the Cosmetics Control.
