In terms of sheer killing power it has to be the half orc barbarian i am playing now, 225 hp so far and another 18 levels to go (I have TOB)
He's currently dual weilding Crom Faeyr, and the Axe of the unyeilding and ocasionally i switch to the flail of ages. One thing that is great about barbs is there speed they have increased movement like monks, but unlike monks they can use boots of speed which doubles there speed again, he's a speed demon.

But as for my favourite none super powerful char it has to be my assassin got i love thieves.

Next is Dwarven Barbarian, Axe of Unyielding, Crom Faeyr, K'logarath, and Runehammer, all with Shield of the Order and White Dragon Scale, CG. Then comes Elven Sorcerer, CG. Then Elven Archer. Then on down the line.
Kensai's are highly trained and very Disciplined warriors who follow a very strict code. This is just not the chaotic type of character, they are forces of law and some times neutrality

Morgan Corbesant, my elven fighter/mage (bladesinger)

Str-15
Dex-19
Con-15
Int-18
Wis-14
Chr-14

grandmastery in longsword, and two points in single-weapon style. has bladesinger chainmail (or robe of vecna, whichever i choose)boots of speed, a great custom longsword (moonblade), and a few odds and ins that a found throughout the game.

then, there is my kensai/thief. grandmastery in katanas, three points in dual wield, and all other points distributed evenly throughout every other weapon. he dual-wields the celestial fury, and dakkons zerth blade (or my custom katana)he is a level 49 kensai, dualed to be a thief who is at level 50. he is retired now, but i still bring him out to play every now and again. with the use any item ability, he wears the black dragon scale, and vaihlors helm. he just RIPS enemies down. just use a ring of invisibility, kai, and proceede to backstab like a madman.

I tend to cringe when people extol their level >40 characters. It is not so bad when they are pureclassed, but some of the dualclassed and multiclassed characters are just plain... warped. The game is not designed for such high level characters, solo or not solo.

That said, my favourite character will be Leonardo, my solo Cavalier. He maxed at level 34, and kicked butt all the way.

Next in line will be Odin Magnus, my solo Sorcerer, and the first soloist to complete the game on Insane Difficulty all the way to the end of ToB. He maxed at level 31.

Well, so far I'm concluding I'm not very good at BG2, but I'd have to say my favorite character is my half-elven sorceror, despite the fact I am probably going to have to restart his game because I made crummy spell selections.

c'est la vie, I guess.
