I think once you install TOTSC, you can find all spells in Sorcerous Sundries in BG. Anyway, I am pretty sure Improved Invis was sold to me in the Inn of Ulgoths Beard, Shadow dor - don't remember, I might not even have it, I definitely don't use it, all my level 5 slots are filled with cloudkills

Beamanoir, I believe it's because behind a door you're safe, but to cast spells, you have to walk back through the door...I don't know bout the invisibility though...

All i know about this is that ive seen greater doppelgangers (the ones that interupt your rest in durlags tower) cast spells - WITHOUT TAKING AWAY SHADOW DOOR!
so im eagerly looking forward to finding a scrol of shadow door

I've seen greater dopplegangers cast only two spells: mirror image, followed by haste, then they simply attack you mellee. I don't know if shadow door is better then Improved Invis. In both cases you can not be targeted by spells, even if you become targetable by physical attacks.
