Yes, the level-scaling in Oblivion is pretty bad.
The only real problem with the system they had in Morrowind is that enemies don't become much more difficult after level 20 or so. All while the max level is something like 70. But then again, those players that complained most that Morrowind was too easy was probably those that intentionally made the most powerful character they could. You know, full Daedric armour, a Daedric Dai-katana with some ridiculously powerful enchantment and the Atronach sign.

Also, I think if the game has this powerful equipment that is kind of the pinnacle to get, of course you will use it when you come across it. Why would you not try to get the best stuff you possibly can within the realms of your character (i.e. heavy armour or light armour, favoured weapon, etc.). It doesn't really make sense that a character would deliberately choose to wear less powerful armour than the best they've found, or use a weaker weapon or such. Not in a roleplaying sense; you don't have to be powergaming for that to be the case. So the game should have been designed so that if you explore all the places it provided for exploration and find all the powerful stuff, there should still be challenges in some battles.

Meh, I still enjoy Oblivion, though I'm dying for CONTENT. I didn't want to have to do the fighter's guild, but I'm having to for the purpose of having quests. I still do not want to join the Mages Guild...too tedious!!! Run here, talk to person x, talk to person y, kill/deliver item to/talk again to person x, go back to person y, return to the beginning of the quest.
Heck, I had fun closing Oblivion Gates, except when made to. I think my next game, whenever I have access to my computer again (this piece of crap at mom's just doesn't cut it!), I'll make a true Paladin, bent on closing every single gate to oblivion. To heck with the MQ, too, because that just separates Oblivion from Tamriel...My guy will want to destroy the evil critters ![]()
