So, do you put both weapons into the two primary weapons slots or is
one of them a secondary weapon?
P.S. How is Germany this time of year. I was born in Prum-Eifel

To quote myself:

Diamond eyes is just the best secondary weapon available for fighter types.
Well, you still have the dual wield penalty. A while ago, my samurai had 1 attack / 1 swing for each primary and secondary weapon. When i removed the secondary weapon, it was 2 attacks / 2 swings for the primary one. Much more damage. But later it pays off, when you get 2x2 or more attacks with a good secondary wapon.

You can get a second Diamond Eyes as a random drop from a character you typically wouldn't think of as one you'd want to kill:

That being Shaman Das. *After* you've received a plot-critical item from him, of course.

Not necessary. He'll drop it, if you didn't get it before.

In my recent game, the Trynnies suddenly attacked me during a fight (and i *know* that i didn't hurt any of them before). Playing ironman, i continued (these Trynnies Spearman are *tough* for a low-level party). The shaman on the 6th bough was hostile too, but his drop contained the key.
Even if you haven't met the usual prerequisite? That would be kind of interesting.

Never mind; if the Shaman was hostile, you obviously didn't engage him in a discussion of Marten's philosophy. Dumb question.

It took several reloads, but I was able to get the second Diamond Eyes via PickPocket; I was looking to avoid having to kill him. Got some other nice loot, too, shame I was after the D.E.

It had me wondering .... could you generate a 3rd or 4th D.E. this way? That would rock. It's cheesy, but ... save, PP (reloading if you don't get the D.E.), then save once you got the D.E, repeat until you get another D.E. You only get a handful of PP's from any character before they start getting suspicious, so you'd have to make sure you only "kept" the PPs that gave you what you wanted.

I really don't like killing friendly NPC's. If it's the only way to get
that (or any other) item, I'll take a pass. There should be far greater
consequences if you do that sort of thing anyway.
