for me, there was very little reason to stick to the profession after my bard reached lvl 18 - it just seemed kinda boring having a character that has to 95% developed his main skills. therefore, i myself will change to a figher/rogue/ranger, dependent on his race and previous development.

I've said it before and i'll say it again... change to a rogue but for only 1 level... but stay that level for a long time... that way you can build stealth and weapons skills... very useful. then switch back to bard. i have my bard at 16 now with mercucio's blade going twice a round with 2 swings each and a thieves buckler and a tripleshot crossbow... and he rocks the house!... literally
