First, you do NOT need to have both games installed. You can import your char 2 ways: CHR file, or savegame. CHR file would be probably better, as the game will create it as soon as you lay the smack down on Sarevok, while the last savegame - Final Save - means that you still will have to fight him. Anyways...

Copy the BG1 CHR file to BG2 folder, into the "Characters" folder. Then start BG2, select Single Player, New, and Import. Select the "Character" and there it is, your BG1 char. Click on the name, press "Done" and the char will be imported. Done, go play and have fun.

DSlaytern] Pardon the post hijack, but I did not want to bump up this thread.

Apparently... this thread needs to be closed or people will keep on bumping it up( I was hoping to count on the self-control of others)... Please note that dead threads should be left alone. They became dead for a reason.
