i dunno, mine take anywhere from 7-10 hrs. mostly 8 thoough.

It happens when you don't have a healer or healing spells memorised. When you sleep, all the healing spells you possess are always cast to make the healing process faster and more efficient. However, if you're playing a solo character like a Fighter/Mage, your rest times will be extremely long (15 days, I had one for almost 30 days when I was near death) and if you think about it, pretty damn realistic. But it should'nt be of consequence to you because there's no time limit in IWD.
