The best part of Temple of Elemental Evil is the satisfaction you get from burning it. The graphics are the best part IMO, and even then they dont look that hot. Turn based combat is SUPER slow, the voice acting is beat-your-head-on-a-wall bad, and the party system stifles any real RPing IMO. Couple that with bugs, and you have oen of the biggest flops since Daikatana.

Looking towards the future, when Bioware finishes Dragon Age, it ought to be a good game. Also, Atari is making BGIII, but I wouldn't get my hopes up on how good it will be. As some others already suggested, go through BGII again, in the meantime. I found many quests and items that I had completely missed in my first time round.

Fallout and Fallout 2. Some of the best RPGs I've ever played.

Is that true about Atari making BG3?

Yes, Atari has indicated that a BG3 is being made. Zero substantive details are available.

Just to really put the cat amongst the pigeons, pre-order it from Amazon here:

Due out in Feb 2005 apparently! Still not quite sure where they're getting this information from...
