What about Longtooth (1D6+2{good for a dagger}) and the Throwing axe (1D6+3) that can be used in melee or in a thrown mode. When thrown it returns to your hand.

Is it better to install it before you play BG1? or finish BG1 and restart and install it?

It's an add-in, so you should install it asap...It can be installed before you play, or whilst you play. It adds the new patches, and the EXp cap is raised, and the new areas added. Install it now!
