I see myself using four spells once I get up there, and they`ll be (mostly) dead.

Try casting Improved Invis, Stoneskin, Mirror Image, & (Improved) Haste on yourself before going upstairs (you need to be able to run over the traps *really* fast & *really* protected). Then run to one of the side rooms as soon as you go upstairs & start summoning. The bad guys will trail in & hopefully engage your Summons first, while you cast spells at them. If you have Simulacrum or Project Image (likely on a scroll, I'd guess), then try to run to one of the far south (east or west, depending on which staircase you come up) rooms & cast that.

Either way, make the entrance to the room a deathtrap by casting Skulltrap, Cloudkill, Death Fog if you have it. Once you've got them coming to you, rather than you emerging among all of them, you'll find it much easier to pick them off.

Drink a Potion of Invisibility downstairs, then cast Mirror Image before going up the stairs.

Walk over the trap and get out of their sight. Do not fear their True Sights. In fact, stay still till they waste all their True Sights.

Proceed to cast multiple Webs out of their sight and clean house with one Greater Malison and multiple Spawn Spiders. Use Melf's Minute Meteors to assist your spiders when necessary.

Ok, I ended up leaving some spiders waiting downstairs, and drew some of the guys down. I ran as far away as I could while they tried to attack my spiders, and cast web. Those remaining were Sunfired to oblivion.

Next thing - Twisted Rune. I now have a Ring of Protection +2, The Amullet of Power, the Rod of Terror, and a Scroll each of Protection from Magic and Prot. From Undead.

Twisted Rune. You can count on hastiness of the mage there. The mage will try to gate a fiend in sooner or later - and she will forget to protect the monsters there (including herself) from evil. Therefore, the fiend will do a lot of work for you. In the other words, the same trick as the one with Balor in Guarded Compound.
You will need as much summoning spells as possible and some Wizard Eyes so that you can stay away from the main room, keep the monsters in the room, and send the summoned monsters inside.
The result of this strategy: you must do something with the lich and with a few somehow surviving monsters. Don't forget Shyrezza (she drains 4 levels per successful hit). She can survive. I have applied this method with my party of three many times and I was always successful. No deaths, no serious wounds, no level drains.

Another possibility is the green Protection from Magic scroll. The scroll lasts many hours so that you can do both Kangaxx and Twisted Rune with a single scroll. IMO, the scroll isn't a good idea for a solo sorceror, even if it makes both Kangaxx and the most dangerous monsters in Twisted Rune completely helpless, because it needs good fighters in the party. Well, you can cast Tenser's Transormation on yourself before using the scroll but what to do when the spell wears off?

Radek -
1) The Vampire won`t level drain me... Amullet of Power
2) Tenser's transformation won`t work at all... PFM dispels all spell effects on casting. My idea was to cast PFM on the beholder; as Cloudbased spells still seem to have effect. Beholder rays are also more dangerous to me than Shangalar's or Layeen's spells...
3) Layeen *IS* protected from evil in my game... the SOTM opcode works properly. She`s also Invisible (so is Shangalar)... would True Sight be a good idea ??
