Hmm, are you prone to fever blisters? That often starts with numbness on a specific part of the lip. Have you been breathing fast and shallow? Hyperventilation starts with a generalised numbing of the lips and the area around them. If neither of these is true, then it is probably a viral infection.

Its none of my business, so please don't tell me....but you wouldn't happen to chew chewing tobacco...? I remember hearing something about similar symptoms from long term chew use. Its probably a longshot; please forget I said anything. A Doctor is really the best person to ask. Please feel better...

Is'nt a "quack" a psycologist? He needs to see an MD.

I think it is hard for Attalus to pinpoint your condition this way Ziroc. And I know I can´t help you, I haven´t diagnosed people in myshort career (well I have assisted in a few bypass decisions but that is not relevant lol). I would like to suggest a visit to either a doctor or perhaps a dentist. Caries can cause a neural response. I have no idea if it will numb your lips though.

Edit: Your symptoms match those of hypoesthesia, a dysesthesia consisting of abnormally decreased sensitivity, particularly to touch. Dysesthesia is impaired sensation that is almost like anesthesia. So scratch the dentist and try a doctor first. Of course I seriouslydoubt this is what you are experiencing. You could have a cold coming, or worse, the flu.

Nope a psycologist is a psychologist and a quack is a MD.

Wonder if you got some bad ciggarettes? Do you buy em by the carton? If so, can't hurt to go out and buy others from a different location from where you bought your ciggs you've been smoking the past few days (go to a 7-11 or somewhere where you know they are fresh). Just a guess here, I hope it goes away soon..
