Im sure this has been discussed many times, but I have never payed attention before becouse I ran a 33.6 modem and, well, it frankly would have been a waste of time to even discuss playing online. Well, I now have a cable connection and want to play online. Any opinions as to who or where a good friendly place to play is for free?

Gamespy Arcade is a good utility to use if you want to find multiplayer games for BG or most other games.

YA I'd like to get into a multiplayer game, beat bg2 several times alone and wanted to see if the multiplayer aspect was any good.

Its aight but full of hackers tho. Gamespy is crawling with them. When I say hackers I mean 'hacked players' and cheated characters basically so unless you lock your games and have a small circle of trusted friends - beware. You will not be able to have a legit and serious game with all the asses bouncing in and out.

i'd play over tcp/ip connection with sum1 if they wanted. i am a strictly legit char (never cheated in the ENTIRE GAME)
mind u i could only play via greenwich times cos al the atlantic times r mixed so u could b playuing 8pm while it might b 4am here  iremember playing PSO (phantasy sar online) on dreamcast and i had to join a legit clan just to b safe of hackers being able to wipe ur memory card etc.
