{sigh} Yes, Davros, the article is blantantly partisan and does paint Bush as "the good guy". I know it is impossible for his critics to believe, but some Americans DO actually view Bush as "the good guy".

I'm glad you got a chuckle or three out of the article and I suppose it was just naive' of me to believe that Bush critics could actually put their disagreements aside and enjoy the article for it's entertainment value alone. I expected plenty of people to disagree with the way the character designations - but a simple comment about them not being completely accurate would have been sufficient. There was no need to go into a point-by-point comparison of the "real Gandalf" vs the "false Gandalf". That wasn't necessary and just soured the whole purpose of this thread, IMHO.

I posted this just for fun and to bring some humor into CE. But it's getting to the point that you can't even post a joke in CE without somebody taking issue with it. [img]graemlins/dontknowaboutyou.gif[/img]

I think you are taking things too much to heart Cerek - either that or you are playing a scene of pathos from a melodramatic tragedy. I mean - aren't you playing that over the top somewhat? And keeping with the LOTR analogies, how does fiction become truth? Grima Wormtongue is a good match for Rush Limabugh, or indeed the FOX news network. If you say things often enough and loud enough in the absence of any dissenting opinion then they get believed. That is almost the entire basis of how FOX spreads its support.

So your funny article was like the insidious Grima - the mouthpiece for Bush's Saruman. Should we as good people of Rohan listen and aceepts Grima within our ranks or should we cast him out whilst laughing all the while.

As with any thing, there are many ways of looking at things Cerek. There is not only yours, and there is not only mine [img]smile.gif[/img] .
