The problem is that they changed almost all the Japanese names into G1 ones... Not only Optimus Prime (who used to be Fire Convoy originally), but don't be astounded when hearing the names of Mirage, Megatron, Ironhide, Prowl, Scourge, Magnus... Really, IMO a big mistake. Oh, that and the fact the RiD is in no way implementable in the TF Universe... While G1 and Beast Wars / Machines are all in the same Universe, RiD simply is not.
Oh, and honestly, I hate it that the humans in the cartoon look like they ran away from Digimon (horrible show). And why does there always have to be a 5 year old child in it?? I was actually a little disappointed with this first episode... Cliche after cliche and lame Japanese anime action. No, it will take some time before I will get used to RiD...

That's a real shame. I had high hopes for the new series after hearing they were bringing back the old favourites... but if they're just re-hashing the names for the sake of it...

I also wish they'd cut down on the child characters. I didn't need Spike or Daniel around to relate to the series. The Transformers were cool enough by themselves!

I was never really a fan of beast wars, or any of the other TF spin-offs. it was always the original and best for me. *sigh* Those were the days...
