Hi, I just started this game and boy~ it sure is good! Me addicted to it real bad, spent like 4 hrs and chpt1 nearly finished, haha~

But hey, u guys out there know of this problem of mine?
After a few loading screens occured after the game loads up (ie. the loadings that took place between areas), the game will automatically error shutdown, and i will hav to restarted the whole game again, and then after a few more loads, it shuts off again and again~ very frustrating!! :S

I do hav the latest patch, hardware is way beyond the game's reqs, turned off auto-save to see if things brighten up but it didnt
turned down from 1024 to 800 resolution, still no dice

Anyone help plz?

Dumb questions but it might be this: Are your video card drivers up to date? Also what is your OS?

Hmm, I used to have the same problem, but I cant remember how I fixed it, unfortunantly I think it involved a format and a re-install(not because of the problem) But yes, it would most likely be graphics card drivers.
I will assume you have an ATI based graphics card???
I think the problem happened with some ATI drivers.

Oh, dont worry, there is nothing wrong with RADEON"s, as they are by far the best there is.
I have a 9800SE and I cant remember which driver set was supposed to cause the problem, but it may also be an overheating problem too, so experiment alittle and see what happens.

Catalyst 4.3-4.10 will cause it. Upgrading to 4.11 should cure it.

Hmm, i reinstalled my catalyst 4.11, and the case seems to hav healed a bit. Occasionally the game still errorise and quits but much much more playable and enjoyable now

oh btw, is it just me? or is it everybody also hav to experience the horrors of "face splitting" on our characters?
still remember BLADE2 movie? the mutant vampires hav those cheek splits? its happening to my companions and myself in KOTOR, except its not only the cheek, its the whole face!! And most distinct on Mission's face (which is a real bugger coz her pretty face got spoilt by this graphical glitch)

I finished the game, haha~ and yes - its AWESOME! Especially that little revelation of the protagonist's history...hehehehe, I consider that to be the best turning-point I've ever seen in my history of gameplaying.

Something still baffles me though:

*Might be a minor spoiler*
.
.
I played the whole game on the LIGHT SIDE, and by the end of Ratakan planet thing, my light point is at maximum, and the STATES BAR added something called "Light Side Master Bonues" or I cant remember its proper name. What exactly are the bonuses of that anyway?
..
