Legolas

Legolas nods, then drops his pack to the floor. Most of his arrows follow. He removes the leather string from his hair, and uses it to bind his knife to his arm. Once he's shoved it all into a corner, he shoulders his bow. No sense in keeping his equipment on him if he knew he'd be captured. He couldn't waste time tracking it down again after his future captor took it all.
The elf takes a deep breath before leaving the building.

"Let's go then."

Captain Skrum and his men had been given the honourable task of protecting the borders. Unfortunately for the five goblins, that meant they had to walk a lot, through an area which hadn't yet been deforested. It also meant they were often late for dinner.
On the upside, it was a quiet job. Others had to build or serve the bosses, but Skrum just had to look for anyone trying to get in. Since his patrol was part of the outer ring, it didn't matter if anyone slipped past, as others could catch them just as well as he could. Not that many people ever entered.

The small band of goblins was more occupied with one another than watching for intruders, though. They didn't bother for stealth either, snapping branches and yelling as they went.
Skrum had no idea he'd get a chance to earn a promotion only too soon...

Sorsha

Thankfully, she walks beside him, her hand sliding into Legolas subconsciously as she feels the burning gaze of the Hunter upon their backs. Squeezing the elven ranger's hand, she gently slows him in his path, that he would slow down a little.

Soon, the three are walking on par with one another, silently facing their way ahead.

As the three walked along, they heard a loud commotion to their side. From the sound of it, a patrol was making their way towards them and being none too stealthy in their movemonts.

"Well elf, looks like your about to get a chance to join your friend". He then slipped a ring onto his finger and disappeared from sight. But before the patrol got too close, he quietly whispered to Sorsha, "I will follow right by your side as we go in. Since I mean you no harm, your spell will not hide you from my sight."

The look on her face showed that she was not comforted by that thought.

OOC>> FYI: The Sanctuary spell does not make you "invisible". It simply forces any opponent to make a Saving Throw before they can attack you. Otherwise, they ignore the cleric in favor of other targets...but they can still him/her.

OOC: I know, Cerek But it'll serve to get Sorsha to Julano's stronghold unharmed, and if she keeps enough distance few will see her anyway, as most eyes are on Legolas. Hopefully...

IC: Legolas

"Let's go then."

Before taking the last few steps onto the patrol's path, he turns and looks into Sorsha's eyes one final time. Then he steps through the brush and waits.

Skrum was just yelling at his second in command when he heard Corporal Billy scream something. The other two patrolmembers were already rolling on the ground, laughing and taunting Billy. Appearantly he'd walked straight into a tree or something.
It took about two minutes for the Captain to restore some order. Just as they walked off again, Skrum heard the unnerving sound of someone clearing his throat.
Looking back, he could see an elf standing, arms folded, watching them. Even more unnerving, he was standing right where the tree had been moments before!

The intruder just stood there, waiting for the goblins to move.
Billy offered it might be a trap, but Captain Skrum would have none of it. He drew his sword and stepped closer to the elf, to which the creature raised his arms in surrender.
"Or," Skrum figured, "he could be preparing to cast a spell!"

Selfpreservation high on his list of priorities, he ordered the other goblins to attack.

Hunter and Sorsha had taken listened as the patrol approached Legolas' position. They heard the shouts of surprise as the elf revealed himself, but it was they who were surprised when the patrol leader ordered his group to attack the elf instead of capture him.

Hunter quickly grabbed Sorsha's shoulder as she started to rush to the aid of her lover. "Remember the plan, mi'lady. I don't think the elf would want you to reveal yourself by rushing to his side. Let us see how it plays out first."

Sorsha couldn't see the half-elf's face, but she shot a withering glance in the direction of his voice. The fire in her eyes clearly spoke the danger he faced if he did not release her. Hunter complied with the unspoken demand as the sounds of battle grew.

He cursed the elf and his stupid plan, but the die was cast. If he left the elf to his fate, then he would once again have to seek entry into the mage's stronghold on his own. Turning back to Sorsha, he spoke in a low voice.

"Approach if you must, but try to stay out of sight. There is no reason to reveal your presence to any other eyes that may be watching. The elf and I should be able to handle the patrol easily enough."

With that, he quickly turned and rushed through the trees. He found the elf hard pressed in battle. He was backed against a tree and surrounded by 4 goblins. The elf was doing well, considering he had only 1 dagger and no armor to protect himself. The goblin closest to him fell as the dagger was plunged deep into it's throat and the elfs natural agility was helping him to avoid the awkward attacks of the others. Still, he had two large gashes in his chest and arm from attacks he had not avoided. The patrol leader stood off to the side a little, watching the fight with obvious amusement.

The smile disappeared from his face as Aric sank an arrow deep into his chest. The goblin managed to turn towards the attack, only to see another arrow coming for his face. But, just before it hit, it seemed to "dissolve" in thin air, only to be replaced by several small globes of magical energy. These arcane missiles slammed into his face and head with brutal force, permanently ending any chance he would have had for a promotion. ~"Stupid, stinking goblin"~ thought the Hunter. But he had no time to reflect on it. Legolas still faced three goblins with only his dagger. The sound of the attack on thier boss had caused them to look his way momentarily, giving the elf a brief respite.

Aric quickly fired two arrows into the goblin farthest to his right, followed by two more into the next one in line. Both fell before they had a chance to react. Legolas used the opportunity to plunge his dagger into the heart of the last remaining goblin. It stood looking at him with a confused look on it's face. It didn't fall, but it had no strength left in its arms to raise it's weapon. Legolas grabbbed the sword out to the goblins limp hand and shoved it into the creatures gut. The light left it's eyes and it fell over dead.

As Legolas turned to thank Aric for his help, he realized that he still couldn't see the bounty hunter. ~ "That's odd. His attacks should've negated his Invisibility"~ Legolas thought to himself.

Just then, Aric removed the ring from his finger and came into view. "Well, elf...I certainly hope you have a Plan B. This one didn't seem to go to well."

ELIZA (She gives Blandamour a dirty look and wanders over to the bar. The wizard is tippling freely, having just finished what she calculates to be his fifth glass of wine. He weaves slightly on his stool.) "Well, hello there, handsome, would you buy a girl a drink?"
