I have found reached a set of caverns with lava lakes... In fact, there are three lakes and I believe I have searched every inch(but I could be wrong...... Yet no sign of Dragon Ore.... Or is there another cavern that i haven't found yet?

You have to use a pick on the various ore piles that are all around these caverns. Most will give you a gem, but two will give you dragon ore.
