q about Yoshimo in a solo game (ch 4 spoiler)

I'm currently playing a solo game, and will probably head over to Spellhold soon. My big question is whether I can do the quest with Yoshimo's heart if he is not in my party when I find out he betrayed me. When I first met Yoshimo I let him in to see if he had any stuff I could take, then gave him the boot. Is this enough to get the quest, or does he need to be with me in Spellhold?

no no no, keep him in your party. if you don't, the result is, well, it is nothing, serious, you get nothing for not keeping him in your party, he just dies.

aha, thanks for the advice. Guess I have to decide whether to take him along solely for the quest, or to stick with playing solo.
