[*****Spoiler Alert*****]

In my current game, I was never confronted in the swamp by the Dark Savant. Consequently, I never got the fake Chaos moliri. I finished the entire Ratzuka plot, killing Don Barleone and Company. Now I am working my way through the T'rang/Umpani Alliance and can't switch the fake orb with the Chaos Moliri. Am I forgetting something significant, or do I just steal the CM and kill all the Mook? Any feedback appreciated.

Hi, Bling Bling!

Well, first, it's the fake Astral Dominae, not Chaos Moliri. You can switch the fake orb for the Chaos Moliri, though.

The Dark Savant can usually be found near the first exploding pod as you enter the swamp, heading due east. Look on your map for a dark area. That generally triggers his appearance.

Other than that, I don't know, unless it's a gaming bug. If you need, I can hexedit the fake Astral Dominae in for you if it's going to affect your game. If you wish, you can e-mail me a save game to sazerac1963@yahoo.com and I'll put in the fake A.D. for you and e-mail it back.

Try to find the area in the swamp first, though. I'm not sure if the Savant doesn't trigger there, that it may affect the storyline later down the road (like at Ascension Peak).

P.S. You are fully patched, yes?

You could also kill all the Mook, I don't think it effects any other faction ratings. But if you wander around the swamp enough, the DS should show up.

Keep walking around the swamp - the DS will show up at some stage. If you have been walking for a while with still no luck, try saving and reloading (or even quitting and reloading - as slow as that is). This worked for me.

BTW, he only seems to appear on the Croc side of the swamp, so no need to look for him over the swamp bridge.

Most likely place I would find him was north of the tar pit area, but I agree with the last post, I never saw him over the bridge that goes to the northern section of the swamp.

My first time through, I didn't switch out the fake Astral Dominae for the Chaos Moliri. Had to kill 6 - 10 Mook to get away (don't remember exact number). The Mook turned hostile toward me, but it didn't matter. I didn't encounter another Mook the rest of the game.

Yeah, the Mook don't play much of a role in the game really, so if you have to you can kill them with little consequences. And no other faction will mind; the Mook may be hostile, but they'll also all be gone

What about the Mook ship in Arnika? Does it do anything other than warn you to stay away?

Thanks for the replies folks. In fact, I have been all over the swamp and have yet to encounter the DS. Most recently, I have encountered 2 or 3 groups of orbs and henchmen who give you the message that you are in possession of the DS' property (the Astral Dominae), which is technically correct, as I have iced Don Barleone and took it from his corpse. At this point, I think I'm just going to six the Mook and take their little toy.

Thanks again,

bb

Nope, the Mook ship I believe was a part of the game that never really got finished by release time. All it does is warn you.
