Well, you don't actually *see* anything in the shower rape scene, however the pavement-teeth kicking is extremely explicit. Its the way its filmed I think, the whole scene is rather disturbing.

I still get the heebie jeebies thinking about that scene. And I think he crushed that guys head :-/

All and all a great movie, but not one I plan on rewatching.

I really thought something like that was going to happen with the guy on the pavement when he had him put his mouth on the curb. The guy opened his mouth and you could hear his teeth scraping against the concrete. I thought, oh crap, but then it cut to the police driving up, and I thought, "what?"

The rape scene was too explicit for me! 6 stitches? My butt hurt the rest of the day.

I've seen the movie 3 times. It is a very powerful look of hatred and how it spreads. The teeth on the concrete scene still makes me cringe even in memory.
It isvery disturbing and the last time I watched the movie I chickened out. Just listening to it was bad enough. I guess there are some scenes of violence that you don't become desenitised to.
I'm not a big Norton fan but in this movie he was excellent. With this film alone he will be able to look back and say that his life as an actor wasn't wasted.

He didnt really kick his teeth out. The guy put his teeth on the curb and had his neck or the back of his head crushed with the heel of Ed's boot when he stomped down. He actually killed the guy if I remember right.

It all goes back to really knowing what you're supposed to hate. Ed hates blacks, but he never actually knows any until he goes to prison and he finally meets the enemy(blacks). He then realizes all that racist crap he's been spouting is just a bunch of BS. All blacks aren't bad and all whites aren't good (the lesson he learned was brutal though).

Never believe completely in what someone tells you. Go find out for yourself and make your own choices based on your own experiences.

Good movie. One people should watch.
