Cheese in this instance is defined by exploiting the game engine to achieve something that could not happen in Faerun proper. The "real" Drizzt would never fall from tactics like this... Hence, it's considered cheese.

Well if we look at it that way then 95% of things that happen in the game are cheese.

Drizzt wouldnt be able to run at the mage if he is surrounded completely by summoned monsters. So I think that tactic is not cheese

I find it strange that the tactic of the island is not posted yet...
Well, if you go nort to the lake there's an island which you can put missile people with a lot of missiles, not necessarily magic. Then have some char ( not PC ) attack Drizzt, and then try to reach the side of the lake before he kills you, and then let the firing begin. Kivan killed him in my game. But really, Drizz't would normally be smart enoguh to keep away from the fire or go find the island bridge...

timmy it IS cheesing!!

you are taking advantage of an artificial AI, not to mention that only a conjurer in reality would have the ability to sumon more than a few monsters to the field. I have beaten gorion by simply bombarding him with sumonings. What you did was cheesing.

The real drizzt would hit each of your summonings in a spinning whirl of furry and probably take out a monster per second (or less). Also he would fight his way to the mage, run him through, then strike minsc 4 times before he even hit the ground girgling on his own blood.

it is cheating. also, he could probably have chucked a semitar at your mage and nailed him between the eyes the second that he saw an opening between your monsters = bye bye mage.

i believe you did it, but not that you did it fairly. why can't you accept that without taking advantage of the AI or exploiting the fact that there are no summoning restrictions in BG, that Drizzt is unbeatable.

also, could somebody give me some background history of Drizzt. Like who he is, why he was in baldur's gate. His role in any novels or other black isle games (if there are any)

thanks

I defeated Drizzt the usual cheesy way. Lots of summons, LOTS of arrows.

I had BG1-Ease of Use, so I managed to have hundreds of unenchanted arrows at hand.

Heheh, have you not heard of Drizzt? The famous drow ranger, follower of Mielikki, champion of Icewind Dale?

Well, there are many novels that are writen, that tell tales of Drizzt's exploits and adventures. If you go here, the official website of the author of the novels. You should be able to find out quite abit.

Other games he has been in are Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2 and Xbox) and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (also PS2 and Xbox)

Hope that helped

why is it such a big deal? really. if hes stuck inbetween monsters, he cant get to my party, ZFR is right, it aint cheese. oh and also rockstar, it seems that drizt cannot throw his schimitars, as they are melee weapons, not throwing. its not my fault bioware didnt give him any missile wepons, if hes such a great warrior he should have some shouldnt he...

You don't understand. A real character would be able to dodge and weave and shove his way through monsters. Drizzt's sprite can't do that because of limitations in the engine.
