After running scandisc, defrag, uninstalling,
cleaning out the registry, reinstalling the full game and holding breath,
it looks as if my condition may be fatal.....

"Bmp16__Load Error On Savefx/s_screen.bmp"
laughed the evil spirit lodged in my computer

Anyone know a good exorcist?

btw after reinstalling, i tried to save game (overwriting old one)
and it said "cannot create save game file"

Hi coach -

Did you try starting a new game after going through everything else??
Have you checked your memory? Moni had the game up and die on her, had to restart but after she fixed the bad memory she had on her machine. Just another thought.

How do I start a new game? Do I have to take my save games out? When I start the game it says party out on adventure, resume saved game or revert adventure

Hi coach -

Since we're going to presume that your save files are corrupt (did you try all of them??) you should remove the roster.dat and all the gamexx.sav files. Or you can uninstall the game and manually delete all the files that an uninstall does not remove.

Did Xignal check your save file??

Really hope we can find something to save this game for you!

This may be far fetched, but what about reverting your game? Mind you, that save game is probably erased when you uninstall the game, but I think it's worth a try.

Well, after reinstalling and deleting all save games (sniff, sniff)
I started fresh. Went through Garick's spill at the beginning about the sword and took my lone shirtless warrior out to the cemetary road.....
and bam "Open Error on D6MON8.dat"

Could be worse, I guess. At least it didnt wait until I got to Shurgeon Ruins this time.

Last call for anymore ideas before the funeral services.

Oh Major Sighs!!!

coach - post into Saz's technical desk thread - list completely what hardware/os/memory you have and anything else that you think might be important! Saz is great at the techie stuff and generally he manages to read all the threads, but I have a feeling he's missed this one. Post in his thread and he'll be sure to see it !!!!

(keeping my wings crossed)
