I need help please

I got the Mavin Sword and all the treasure chests in the same room but now i seemed to be stuck. I thought for sure the door right next to room woudl open. Do i need to kill the dragon after i get sword? And another thing my character is a Vampire and it sucks,hehe im walking around with a dead guy, im thinking about making a new character, start all over but it seems unfair, i have him up to 11th level wizard but i cant use him so i think its only logical thing to do is start a new wizard. Any hints on changing him back? Also i need help with Serpents Eye, i need it for a quest, where and how do i get it? I thought i did everything in serpents temple. Please help.

To get that door open where you picked up the Mavin sword, click on the stand again and let the narrator finish his speech. The door should open.
The only cure for Vampirism is to restore. There are players who have completed the game with a vampire. Makes it more difficult but it is possible.
The eye you seek is in the Dragon Spire. Did you fight some eel like creatures in a pool (near the underwater passage to the Guardian of Earth). If you've already killed this monster, check the bottom of the pool, the eye should be there.

Do i need to start before i pick up the sword or can i go back to stand even though i left Dragon Spire and went into town to complete soem other quests? I hope i can just go back ,hehe. Thx for your help, i thought i saw something drop from EEL but i thought it was just a gemstone,and with all those monsters after me i just wanted to survive,hehe i never went back to look at what it was.

You shouldn't have to restore the game to click on the stand and get that door open. That's a long way to go back!

That gemstone looks like a diamond (blue) but when you get it identified, it is The Eye of the Serpent.

Thx so much for your help Wyv, i got the door to open. I guess i figured when i first took sword the door woudl open and when it didnt i thought i had to kill dragon but then that was just to hard so then i thought i must have missed an item or quest,but all i had to do was TOUCH ALTER AGAIN,hehehe sometimes the easiest thing to do is right in front of you, but we think it has to harder then that,hehe thats why i love RPG.
But i cant find EYE of SERPENT, i looked in pool but i cant find it, i hope i didnt sell it,hehe.

If you did sell the crystal eye you should be able to buy it back!! Check the stores!

Glad I was able to help on the dragon door - actually credit for that goes to another player (forgive me, I do not recall the name). They had had the same problem and figured it out. Yet another case of having to let the NPCs/narrator talk their fill before things get triggered.

Actually the serpent's eye is one quest that goes astray without the patch if you don't get the eye the first time. There is a real good Dungeon Sweeper in Dragonspire - bridges and puzzles reset if you exit and re-enter (note to self, don't leave bridge crank at Ishad gates treasure pile). The sweepers are supposed to avoid clearing any essential and quest items. The eye is one that was being swept up, until this was fixed by the patch.
