Here is what happened.

Xan was at work while teh parental unit decided to, you know, clear some space on Mimi's (my computer)harddrive.

Soo . . .He uninstalled THRONE OF BHAAL. It never asked him if he wanted to save any files. So that is gone. But when THRONE went BALDUR'S GATE II went with it since THRONE replaces its exe file.

So I have BGII sitting on my computer. Mimi knows it is there but she does not know WHERE it is. I cannot reinstall THRONE since it doesn't know where BGII is either. I tried having a friend send me the exe files from both games but it did not work.

I cannot uninstall the game because, again, Mimi doesn't know where it is. So the father deleted the whole folder (copying my customs and saves to a safe place). I tried installing BG2 again but the InstallShield kept shutting itself down. o_o

So. . .what. . .Am I scrued?

Do you get any errors when InstallShield stops? My solution would be find a registry cleaner and delete all the instances for BGII. It's kind of risky though. I can't look which one I used but there was a pretty good one that sorted stuff based on what put it in the registry.

edit: Be really careful with registry editors. You can completely destroy software if you don't know what you're doing. Don't delete stuff of which you don't know what it is.

Go into regedit (start menu, run, regedit), fry the keys listed here:
http://www.bioware.com/games/shadows.../#uninstallToB

Oh, and if you kill the wrong thing in there, you can make your computer unbootable, which is always fun. And there are many other bad things you can do to it as well. So be careful.

Freaky. Make sure your reinstalling SOA first, because ToB is so integrated into SoA, removing ToB dosetn leave enough of SoA to work. In fact it should trigger the SoA uninstaller automaticaly.

Which OS are you running?

It might be worth searching the registry for other keys related to baldurs gate and interplay.

What error message is InstallShield giving when it shuts down?
