In my opinion, white dragon scale is incredibly powerful, -2 AC and can use thieving abilities, a must for a ranger. If saves are good or you are immune to whatever you need to save against, drow full plate has that nifty -4 ac. I'd actually leave keldorn's armor on as it is decent already.

Aslyferund turns out to be worth it only for the AC of 0. When you come across people who deal normal damage, chances are they will never hit you anyway, and if you did the good fear test, your main character is already immune to them. I use it on any fighter/mage since the ac is awesome. Unless you are incredibly low level, you shouldn't have a problem with gromnir's guards.

ToB is essentially without enemies who strike with Normal weapons. Sure, there's the barracks full of goons in Amkethran, but when you consider that that entire room can be cleared with a single Death Spell, you see that the reall challenge is presented by looting all the bodies. And there are all the Yaga-Shura soldiers you meet in the 1st map outside Amkethran, too. Apart from them, the only other enemies with Normal weapons (some Fire Giants may drop them, but that doesn't mean they use them) are the holdovers from BG1, like Sword Spiders. So any enemy worth a damn is going to have an enchanted weapon. A good number of enemies use +1 weapons, though--especially Arrows.
