Hello, I am transferring my BG to a new computer, this time I have plenty of space but the installation program refuses to see more than 2048 KB which means that I can not do a complete install. Very annoying. It needs something like 2.2 GB free, and I have around 16 GB free on that partion. What is the problem? Please heeeelp. Oh, should say that it is under W98SE, can do it under W2K as well but figured W98 would be more "compatible". It is a fat 32 partition, obviously. Thanx again.....

I just did a full (custom) reinstall this morning and got the same message, or similar message, don't remember the exact amount of space it said there was. Whatever the stated amount was it was clearly wrong as I had over 6 gigs of available HD space. I ignored it and chose the option to install anyway. It was fine. I think that message is a glitch of some kind.

This happens but dont worry. Just sellect everything as you usually do and click next when it says you dont have enough space press continue anyway it will still install fine.

Just ignore the message and install, as Lemernis suggested. This is some kind of bug, maybe even one of Win98, or the install routine, which just can't "see" partitions larger than 2 GB. If you start the install program a second time and you will again see, that only 2 GB are free.

Hello again, did just that before I read this. It works fine just you say it will. Installed it under w2k with totsc. You get the same message there as well, the one about not enough drive space. Anyway, now the sound glitches on my machine. Works sometimes but after a save, it will be on for a few seconds, off for a few seconds. After a while it will be on the whole time but it is a little "fissy". I have got the latest patch for UK, but there is a patch for US that is for direct x 8 which is what you use under w2k. Does the us patch work ok? I know that you are supposed to stay to "language" you bought. Any comments?
Thanx. |
