The current 'crashes' --i.e. the Server's IIS keeps turning off. Probably due to low memory. (2 of the 4 RAM slots are dead, so we're operating on 2GB Ram--which sucks for a server. lol...) and the HD has some bad sectors... 7 of them, but they have been 'roped off'.. but I'm about to clone the drive, so all the posts, OS and data will be fine.
So.... I am building a whole new server--it'll be a mid tower or smaller.. It's all I need--no 5090 OC to put in--btw, that Asus Astral 5090 OC is 3.038 kilograms or 6.62 pounds... I could use it to lift weights... geez its heavy... I ordered an after market support for it, because the one it came with was...let's just say... its plastic and flimsy. If you only plan on gaming, go with the 5080. The 5090 is for gaming, but I am more interested in the 32GB ram for my 3D Modeling / Rendering and Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Anyway, I already upgraded to a new router for the network, so speed for IW and my PC are top-notch, now, of course the server decided to give me issues ![]() New Mid-Tower NVME Drive (2) 12900k Intel (the newer Intel 13th and 14th chips have issues--degrading etc.... 32 GIG Ram Cheap Video card - no need for a crazy fast video card in a server ![]() Blu-ray burner - I have a few, will just throw one in for the hell of it... Got a spare 1440 Monitor 10 Gb Network card, now that I have 10Gb local speeds Have a spare Keyboard and Mouse So it won't cost too much. The only thing you'll notice is super responsive speeds when posting. Then I'll be focusing on a much needed update to the Forum Software and I'll add my Youtube videos in a Forum for that -- and a Forum for posting YOUR videos, MEME's, or just funny videos! My health (lower back and high blood pressure--its under control now), but the back pain--got the latest MRI, and it's not good. Shows degeneration of my lower back spine--the stuff between it--forget the name of it... I got the MRI because months again I was simply walking through a store (Target) with my Wife, and all of the sudden I couldn't walk upright.. I had to lean on the cart as we went to the checkout... embarrassing... It was bad...couldn't walk well for a week or so, then it slowly faded away. Then back to semi-normal... So now its like, if I walk around a store, or we went yard sale shopping, and got back home, and paid the price.. was down for a week.... SO frustrating. I won't lie, I felt like 'I can't live like this'.. but pushed that out of my mind. I don't give up. I have an appointment for a specialist in a month or so, and I will know more. Just sucks.. the most simple of tasks can ruin my week after i do them.... Grrrrrrrr... I was raised to push through it. And I do. But I just have to know my limits now... Sorry for the doom-ish post. It's just been an aggravating last few Months. I'm still streaming when I can--all kinds of games and I stream my 3D Modeling of the City I am building for my Comic I came up with as a kid--one is of a comedic nature, and the other is based on a group of researchers/Government task force to hunt down Aliens and either hunt them down, or acquire their technology. (Its a darker comic). So Sub to my Youtube channel, it would mean a lot!!! I am not monetized, nor care to be. Just wanna share my passion for what I do. In a few weeks I'll be modeling Area 51 and other 'sets' for the Alien comic. The 3D City is mainly for the funny comic 'Dirty Bug'. I'm making the City to be duel use for both comics. So it'll save on backdrops. ![]() Anyway, here is the link to my Youtube Channel (Its Ironworks Gaming) with my avatar being Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China) one of my favorite movies! ![]() http://www.youtube.com/@ironworksgamingThanks again!! And I can't WAIT till the new server is finished and you can once again have a stable and super speedy Ironworks Forum experience! I'll be changing up the whole site--new Front page, and I'll be changing up the color scheme just a bit. If you have ideas for some color designs, reply here! Don't worry, I won't make it bright neon green or anything! heheheh! ![]() Dan Webmaster of Ironworks Forum |
