I am halfway through season 6 atm, after finally caving and watch all the previous seasons - I am afraid to click the link in case it inadvertently spoils something for me! But, I absolutely love Lost now, and wondered just why I never bothered with it beforehand.

I've watched about the same amount, I really should watch the rest soon. I think I need to see from episode 8 on to the finale. The map doesnt look like it contains any major spoilers to me.

Watching it on dvd is by far the best way. I watched seasons 1-4 on dvd and then I HATED having to catch the others on regular TV. All I can say is that without my DVR I'd have gone on a murderous rampage.

Yes, I tend to do that with most series if I can. I wait awhile and either catch up via website episodes or rent the DVD's later. With Lost though, I purposely avoided it, thinking it was just another "Castaway" type of spin-off. Couldn't have been more wrong. Fell in love with all the characters by season 1.

The plot has so much forethought and attention put into it. I think it is a credit to the writers that in this day and age of powerful CGI and flashy special effects, it serves as a reminder of just how interesting a series can be on story alone. It doesn't need to have visual fireworks going off every 5 minutes to remain interesting.

If any of you have played the Myst titles, the whole island very much reminds me of the second one "Riven", in so many ways. It's like watching a bunch of players run through the game.

Btw, most of the map makes sense to me except two things. Is "The Door" the door to the hatch? Also what's "The Staff"? Bear in mind i'm only a bit into season 6.

The Staff and the Door are Dharma stations -- I'd say he picked it out of an obscure reference somewhere -- perhaps a Dharma map in the background of a scene or something like that. I don't recall them from being prominent at all. Same with The Flame and The Arrow.

The door to the hatch that Lock obsessed over for so long was actually The Swan Dharma Station, I believe.

Yeah that's right, The Swan, I remember now. I am so used to just calling it the Hatch even though they mentioned The Swan quite a bit later on.

I think The Flame is where the russian guy was with the eyepatch (think he was russian). I don't know what The Arrow is at all. Also, I assume the Looking Glass is the underwater station where Charlie went, isn't it?
