There's also a plugin that let you load IE page in Firefox, so if a website doesn't accept firefox, just press the "open up as IE" button and you've got your IE-only page working in Firefox. And why not make Firefox your default browser. There are no reasons not to. [ 10-20-2006, 04:33 PM: Message edited by: Luvian ]

So here's some more coal. ![]() Quote:
But I use Firefox because of the tabs, which IE didn't have until version 7, and the themes and extensions. [ 10-20-2006, 07:21 PM: Message edited by: Callum ]

I couldn't stand it anymore so I clicked on the thread.
Yes, Firefox is better. IE is a bunch a, I can't say what 'cos I'm a good Christian. I have to use that junk all day at work. Now y'all can go back to whatever y'all were talkin' 'bout. [ 10-21-2006, 05:04 AM: Message edited by: Variol (Farseer) Elmwood ]

Basically, none of them are perfect. I have IE7, Firefox and Opera. There are sites where one or the other of them makes the page look funny, or even unusable.
In terms of look, I like the sleek IE7 look most, but the problem is this look is ruined if you have even one custom button (eg del.icio.us) as it appears in a bar all by itself. Opera has a very good look as well. In terms of speed, Firefox is probably quickest for mine. IE7 seems to be a bit slower, and even more so if you turn on the anti-phishing functionality. And Opera just seems slower again. I like the way Opera has the "Top 10" tab which appears whenever you click the URL bar, which shows you the 10 most frequent links that you've accessed. The way Opera's bookmarks are listed are horrible however. The space between lines is so tiny that the mouse cursor often loses its place when you're drilling down levels. In short, none of them are perfect. |

I have the Opera installer sitting on my desktop for ages, and I'm waiting until they make a firefox to opera bookmarks importer before giving it a try. I have more than 200 bookmarks, no way I'll do it manually.

Just find out what file has the bookmarks in Opera and copy/paste.
I do it all the time - it's easier to parse large blocks of bookmarks that way than use the built-in editor.
