Well... you could completely cop out like a wuss... and go and buy a Scroll of Protection Against Magic from that honest chap, Ribald Barterman... if you haven't bought them already. Cast it on a chosen fighter who will square off against Mr. Gaxx (not a wizard... a Scroll of MP will render their spells unusable). If you can lure Kangaxx the Normal Lich a little way forward from his position by moving backwards a bit and letting him walk towards you, that'll mean the top of the screen is no longer in his line of sight. So, when your character defeats Kangaxx and he becomes a floating skull death machine, the other members of your party can run for the top of the screen and hide while the Scroll of Magic Protection prevents Kangaxx's Imprisonment and DemiLich Howl abilities from doing anything. Then all you have to do is hit him with a powerfully-enchanted bit of metal enough times to kill him.

If you're really flushed with cash, feel free to purchase additional Scrolls of Protection from Undead for the rest of your party. These will render them invisible to the DemiLich while they attack him. The reason I don't recommend them for everyone is that if he can't see you, Kangaxx can't do his arising-from-death speech - and that means he never dies.

This method makes Fighting Kangaxx absolutely no challenge what-so-ever, and can be used by anyone. I told you it was a cop-out wuss's option.

haha! Thanks. How about "alternative" demi - lich killing technique?

To me, especially, Kangazz was the biggest pain in the world. He made me so mad, I quit playing the game for a short while But what I did was use or cast Spell Immunity: Protection from Alteration and Abjuration. This protects you from Imprisonment and Teleport Field. You'll need a +4 or higher weapon when hitting him though, but I don't recommend you use the Minute Meteors spell because it does little damage to him and you'll have to cast it a lot to scathe him. Ring of the Ram also works.

Spell Immunity: Abjuration is the best thing to use when fighting demi-liches or other evil denizens who have the ignorant habit of casting imprisonment non-stop.

The best tactic for Kangaxx is to use one of your party members in that specific fight. Where you can kill his Lich form with the entire party, make sure the others run away, while your mage (equiped with a +4 weapon) casts Spell Immunity: Abjuration on him-/herself. Keep hacking, use RotR to deliver some more damage. Then you should eventually be fine.

Question: Do demi-liches see through invisibility? Otherwise cast improved invisibility on yourself. Imprisonment is a target-based spell, so it can't be cast if you're (improved) invisible.
NOTE: Improved Invisible, because that invisibility lasts even when you attack. Must be dispelled first.

Kangaxx casts True Sight if anybody is invisible in his range of sight... (normal lich tactic) IIRC, nullifing the (improved) invisibility tactic.

Though casting Spell Immunity ---> Abjuration, is great vs Kangaxx and his Imprisonment frenzy..

Equip your mage with the Staff of Rynn +4 (Adv. Mart) or Staff of the Magi +5(Though I don't know if you already done the Twisted Rune... probaly not), second note.. don't waste spells on dear old Kangaxx the Demi-Lich because he's immume to every single one of them (1 - 9).

Though some spells do not target Kangaxx (like Melf's Minute Meteors, they are +4 weapons, there for hitting Kangaxx) so you can use them in your battle against him.

Keep us posted...

[add] Sir Exxon made it clear about the ''Rune'' thingie...

All liches, including demi-liches have no problem whatsoever seeing invisible creatures. They dont have eyes anymore anywayz

I quote from one of the loading screens texts:

"If Improved Invisible creatures attack, the invisibility isn't dispelled. You CANNOT target them with a spell unless the invisibility is dispelled"

Or at least that's what I though they were trying to say Kinda corny that doesn't work for liches though.

*Looks at all the posts on Kangaxx*

Maybe we should design a forum just for him

That is a general rule. However, some creatures ignore invisibility( they have the special ability to see through invisibility). Liches are one of them.
