I think about myself and how others look at me and deal with me..I also tend to think about how big the universe *really* is and why it's so big..and what *Was* before the big bang anyway? I get headaches if I think about it too long

I think it's a rather common experience for most not-so-generic-people from time to time (smoking pot will increase the possibility of you having this experience!).

I myself have a form of day-dreaming, where I slip into thoughts every now and then and simply dream things I do not control, all the while my eyes are open. But I also have the same experience Links describes, but I do not panic nor do I find it strange. Indeed, in a 20+ people party I do sometimes feel alone. That I do not want to (or are able to) converse with anyone and I simply go home. It's all good though, it happens. Nothing to get worried about.

Furthermore, sometimes I also start to intensively listen to my body. I manually breath in and out and *feel* all my bodily-functions funtion. *That* I find more disturbing then questioning the who and what of life. Because I become very much aware of how easy it is for me to suddenly stop living if I would just stop inhaling and exhaling for a while. Whenever I get that feeling I desperately seek to divert my attention to something else, even when I'm in class I might just leave, because it is a rather suffocating-feeling. Note that the latter experience occurs rather sporadic.
